The Farm Life Experience

Real understanding of water, waste, food and energy comes from living with these systems. Farm Life Experience is your accommodation, community hub and primary classroom.

2026 focused initiatives

Who thrives here?

Everything to know before you go

How is this different from Farm Life Experience?

Farm Life Experience is a guided one-to-three-day cultural introduction. Volunteer & Immerse is a minimum seven-day transformational learning journey where guests help manage real systems and contribute to ongoing projects.

Why is there a programme fee?

This is education-focused, not a labour-for-room exchange. The fee supports expert mentorship, curriculum, workshops, system maintenance, tools, accommodation, breakfast, Wi-Fi and utilities.

What is included?

Daily learning, workshops, project guidance, a private homestead pod, breakfast, mentorship, learning materials, tools, shared facilities, Wi-Fi and utilities. Lunch, dinner, personal expenses and required travel insurance are not included.

Is staying at Farm Life Experience mandatory?

Yes. The homestead is the integrated classroom, community hub and living laboratory that defines the programme.

What are the sleeping arrangements?

A private minimalist pod within the container structure, with shared private-bathroom and kitchen/common-area facilities.

Can dietary restrictions be accommodated?

Declare them in your application. Locally sourced meals can often be adapted.

Is Wi-Fi available?

Yes, in the common area. Mindful use is encouraged.

What should I pack?

Sturdy work shoes, refillable bottle, headlamp, lightweight long sleeves for sun and insects, and an adaptable mindset.

How do I get there?

Transport from Chiang Mai to Phrao can be arranged at additional seasonal cost. Guests may rent a car and follow the ESC Global GPS location, or take an air-conditioned minivan from Chang Phuak Bus Station. Choose the earliest departure; the journey is about two hours. Share your ticket after confirmation so pickup from Phrao Bus Terminal can be coordinated.

Immersive Volunteer Journey Program Agreement

Every participant must review and sign the programme agreement and indemnity form before arrival. This protects the participant, the farm and the local community by clearly recording responsibilities, health disclosures and emergency information.

Programme agreement

  • Participate respectfully in assigned, supervised farm and sustainability activities.
  • Follow staff instructions, safety rules, accommodation rules and Thai law.
  • Disclose medical conditions, allergies, dietary needs and accessibility requirements before arrival.
  • Maintain suitable travel and medical insurance for the full programme period.
  • Respect ESC Global intellectual property, farm operations, other guests and the surrounding community.
  • Understand that the programme fee covers education, mentorship, accommodation and stated inclusions; it is not wages or an employment arrangement.

Indemnity, risk acknowledgement & consent

  • I understand that farm activities may involve uneven ground, tools, animals, insects, weather, plants, machinery and other normal rural risks.
  • I agree to follow all briefings and stop any activity I consider unsafe or beyond my ability.
  • To the extent permitted by applicable law, I accept the ordinary inherent risks of voluntary participation and will not hold ESC Global responsible for loss or injury caused by my failure to follow instructions, undisclosed conditions or negligent conduct.
  • I authorise reasonable first aid and emergency assistance when necessary and understand that related costs remain my responsibility or my insurer’s responsibility.
  • This form does not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability arising from ESC Global’s proven gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
